This month, UK ENIC’s Research Manager Emma Kirby provides the answer to this question: is this UK teacher training provider recognised?
UK ENIC typically lists institutions that hold degree-awarding powers. This generally relates to institutions that are permitted to confer degrees such as a Bachelor or Master’s.
Accreditation to deliver an Initial Teacher Training (ITT) course is separate from degree-awarding powers. ITT programmes are offered by a range of providers, only some of which also award degrees.
UK ENIC would only therefore list an ITT provider if it also happened to hold degree-awarding powers. In other words, our databases do not list ITT providers specifically.
The official list of providers who are accredited to deliver ITT courses that lead to QTS in England can, however, be found here.
