UK ENIC attends UNESCO HE meeting
UK ENIC attended a meeting of the Bureau to the Global Convention on the Recognition of Qualifications relating to Higher Education, last month.
Chris Lyons, Head of Policy and Engagement, and Bureau member, was invited as part of the UK delegation to UNESCO, representing UK interests and providing advice and technical support.
The Bureau discussed progress on the interim working programme for 2025-27.
The meeting, on 10 February, explored the development of a subsidiary text to the Global Convention, focusing on the qualifications of refugees and displaced persons.
This will become an important supplementary document to support the recognition and mobility of qualifications held by refugees.
UK ENIC services are supportive of refugee recognition and have a number of innovations designed to deal with the challenges to recognition that are posed.
