UK ENIC represented at Embassy Education Conference
Representatives from UK ENIC recently attended the Embassy Magazine: Embassy Education Conference at Kings College London.
The annual conference is an opportunity to meet senior policy makers and education providers to discuss a range of topics in international education, science and research.
Held on 30 June, the event included a plenary speech from Vivienne Stern MBE (Universities UK), who talked about soft power and how the UK can leverage this, as well as the importance of internationalisation.
There were various break-out sessions covering a range of topics including transnational education, the UK higher education institutional landscape and the Policy Framework for the International Education Strategy.
In addition, there were discussions around student visas and the Immigration White Paper, which looked at changes to the visa application process including e-visas.
The event provided an opportunity to meet with colleagues from UK-based embassies including Mexico, Sri Lanka and Uganda, alongside stakeholders from the UK including the Department for Education’s International Partnerships team, the Office for Students, Universities UK and Universities UK International.
