Ask the experts - US institution listings
In the latest edition of our ‘Ask the experts’ feature, our Research, Data and Insights team is answering another popular question that members ask us.
This month, UK ENIC’s Research Manager Emma Kirby provides the answer to this question: why isn’t this US institution listed on the UK ENIC database?
Given the vast number of recognised post-secondary providers, our US Institutions page is not exhaustive.
We therefore list institutions that have been accredited by agencies historically categorised as ‘regional’ accreditation agencies. This essentially amounts to the ‘big players’ of US accreditation.
Crucially, though, we would still assess qualifications issued by other post-secondary institutions so long as they are recognised by the US Department of Education (DoE).
In the case of institutions based outside the USA, we would assess their awards so long as the relevant accreditation agency is recognised by the DoE.
