A round-up from the Education World Forum

29 June 2025

UK ENIC attended the annual Education World Forum in London last month (18-21 May).

Held at the QEII Centre in Westminster, the EWF is the world’s largest gathering of education and skills ministers, offering a platform for policymakers to discuss global education challenges, share insights and explore solutions.

This year, the theme was ‘From stability to growth: building stronger, bolder, better education together’.

It explored a variety of issues around the development of inclusive, responsive and resilient systems that drive equitable and sustainable economic growth.

Chris Lyons represented UK ENIC in a session delivered by The British Council called: “Tertiary education as a driver of sustainable, scalable and equitable education systems”. AdvanceHE, Association of Colleges (AOC), GuildHE, Independent Higher Education, Jisc, Office for Students (OfS), the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UCAS and Universities UK International (UUKi) were among some of the other organisations that attended.

In a networking ‘world café’ style event, international ministers were able to meet with UK stakeholders including discussions around opportunities for mutual recognition of qualifications (MRQ) agreements.
