Documents needed to apply for a Statement

This service can be used by organisations applying on behalf of an individual for Statement of Comparability and UK Qualification Reference Statements.

The organisation must order and pay for the Statements in advance before they apply on behalf of an individual.

Documents for Statement of Comparability

Documents needed for a Statement of Comparability are:

• completed application form, which your account manager will send to you
• final certificates from the individual’s completed qualifications (up to 4)
• official transcripts from the individual’s school or college, showing all subjects and grades, signed and dated by the school
• certified translations if the documents are not in English (we can translate these for you for free using the Translation Waiver Service)
• proof of the individual’s identity, such as a passport or driving license
• evidence of name changes, if the individual’s name is different from the one on their qualifications (for example, a marriage certificate or change of name deed (opens in a new tab))

Documents for UK Qualification Reference Statements

Documents needed for a UK Qualification Reference Statement are:

• completed application form, which your account manager will send to you
• final certificates from the individual’s completed qualifications issued by the awarding institution (up to 4)
• signed, stamped and dated official transcripts issued by the awarding institution, showing all subjects and grades
• proof of the individual’s identity, such as a passport or driving license
• evidence of name changes, if the individual’s name is different from the one on their qualifications (for example, a marriage certificate or change of name deed (opens in a new tab))

Documents if applying on behalf of a refugee or asylum seeker

We understand that refugees and asylum seekers might not have all the documents needed to get a Statement. If possible, we need:

• completed application form, which your account manager will send to you
• final certificates from the individual’s completed qualifications issued by the awarding institution (up to 4)
• signed, stamped and dated official transcripts issued by the awarding institution, showing all subjects and grades
• proof of the individual’s identity, such as a passport or driving license
• evidence of name changes, if the individual’s name is different from the one on their qualifications (for example, a marriage certificate or change of name deed (opens in a new tab))
• evidence of the individual’s Biometric Residency Permit, eVisa or other evidence of their status as a refugee or asylum-seeker
• if resettled in the UK under the Afghanistan Relocation Assistance Policy or Afghanistan Citizen Resettlement Scheme, we would need to see evidence of this

In all cases, documents should be submitted as clear colour photographs in JPEG format. Make sure all 4 corners of each document are visible and placed on a flat surface in the photographs.

We may ask for more photographs of the documents, if they do not meet our requirements.

We will only accept documents from the awarding institution and not an affiliated college.

Documents and transcripts from affiliated collages are not accepted.
